Holbury and the adjoining hamlet of Hardley has a sizeable population and there are a considerable number of shops and businesses, and the gateway to Calshot, Fawley, Blackfield, Langley and Lepe, also within the area is ExxonMobil known as Fawley oil refinery which is the largest oil refinery in the UK and is situated on the western shore of Southampton Water.
